MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

     WINDOWS 95, 98 or NT 4.0
     486 or better.
     VESA capable graphic card.

LIGHTING:

To get the best effect from the software, make sure the brightness and
contrast controls of the monitor are adjusted for maximum brightness
with a dark black level. Best results are obtained in a dark room with
little or no ambient light. Some configurations are hard to see, unless
     its very dark.

UN-INSTALL:

The setup program AND the screen saver, have automatic
UN-install functions. USE THEM, to un-install it.

To MANUALLY un-install it ... you need to remove the following
files. The files are shown as if they were installed using the
default directory c:\l-speed (Use your directory). [ NOTE: the
'registry' is not directly altered by LIGHTSPEED ]

     In your WINDOWS directory:

                LIGHT-SPEED!.scr
                LIGHT-SPEED!.ini

     In c:\l-speed

                s.exe
                s.pif
                pan.bin
                version.dat
                rumble.wav
                readme.txt
                remove.bat

<models> -all files in this sub directory
<sprites> -all files in this sub directory
<banks> -all files (and sub directories)

Providing you have used the default directory ( or created
your own for the exclusive use of LIGHTSPEED), you can
simply delete the directory c:\l-speed ... and all the files
will be removed in a single step.

PROBLEMS:

  * Everything seems ok but you get a Windows WinExec error message when you
select PREVIEW. There are a number of things which can cause this.
Usually they can be solved by reinstalling the screen saver.
First, un-install it using the Lightspeed setup program. Then,
install it using the default installation directory ( c:\l-speed ).
Make sure you use the default directory.

  * If everything seems ok... it installed properly and runs the
control panel: EXCEPT, when you press PREVIEW, a text screen
appears briefly which indicates that a VESA error occurred.
----> This means that your graphic adapter does not support
VESA. For more information, see below.

  * If everything seems ok... it installed properly and runs the
control panel: EXCEPT, when you press PREVIEW, the screen goes black
(or shows garbage) and the system locks up (requiring a reboot).
----> This is usually related to the graphic adapter card. It can
mean that it doesn't support DOS VESA... and isn't very friendly
about it. Or, it can mean that the graphic driver for the
card isn't working correctly and needs to be updated. Make
sure you have the latest drivers for your card.

  * The card must support DOS VESA graphic modes. Most cards include
this support directly through the graphic adapter BIOS. Cards
that don't, can usually add this support though a software driver.

  * On NT systems, there can be hardware constraints that can cause
problems. For instance, there are display monitors that can't
support the scan rate and screen resolution required.

  * Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphic adapter.
