NetWrite v1.0

A simple, easy to use HTML editor

This program is distributed as shareware (see 'Remove Trial' below)

<< Description >>

A simple, easy to use HTML Editor.

Ideal for beginners and experienced users.

Uses only the basic HTML commands required.

Preview pane displays your webpage instantly.

Many potential webmasters are put off designing their own webpages by
HTML editors with complicated and confusing interfaces, making the
task look more difficult than it really is. NetWrite is designed with
the beginner in mind, with an interface that is uncluttered and very
	easy to use and understand.

HTML is a language that has grown in size and complexity over the years,
making it difficult for a newbie to know where to start. The simple
answer is that very useable and stylish webpages can be designed with
only a handful of HTML commands.

NetWrite allows the design of such webpages, using a base set of
commands and features, with only a few clicks of the mouse.

<< Main Features >>

	(( Format Commands ))

Click the 'Format' button on the main toolbar to display the Format
toolbar. These buttons will apply a format to the selected text in the
Editor window. You can therefore Center, Bold, Underline or Italicise
	text.

The <Pre> tag allows you to enter text between its tags, so that text
retains its format, as entered (eg tabs, carriage-returns etc).

	(( Body ))

The Body attributes set the document's background image or colour, and
the default colour of the page's text and links. Click 'Browse' to
choose an image from your hard disk, and 'Select' to choose the colours
	from the Colour Picker.

Note - If you are adding a background image to a new document
(blank.htm), you will have to save and name it first, as links between
webpages and images are relative to their locations.

	(( Font ))

The Font display allows you to choose what font, size & colour is
applied to the selected text. Although the font list shows all the
fonts on your Windows system, it is best to select a basic system font
to ensure it will display properly on all machines (ie Arial, Times,
	MS Sans Serif etc).

	(( Image ))

The Image button allows you to embed an image into your webpage. A valid
image is in the .jpg or .gif file format. Gif images are usually used
for simple designs such as logos where there is a limited number of
colours. Jpg files are generally used for photographic images.

Note - If you are adding an image to a new document (blank.htm), you
will have to save and name it first, as links between webpages and
images are relative to their locations.

	(( Link ))

The Link button allows you to insert a link in your page which, when
clicked, will navigate to another page on your website, or to another
remote website on the internet. If you want to link to a remote internet
website, enter its address into the textbox, after the http://. If you
want to link to another page on your own website, click the Browse
button and select the page from your hard disk.

Note - If you are adding a link to another page on your own website,
to a new document (blank.htm), you will have to save and name it first,
as links between webpages are relative to their locations.

You can also link to a target point within a webpage. You must first
insert and name a target, you can then link to that target point.

	(( Insert Commands ))

Click the 'Insert' button on the main toolbar to display the Insert
toolbar. These buttons will insert a variety of useful features in your
	webpage.

Break - Inserts a line break, much like a carriage return.

Table - Creates a table of x rows and y columns. You can adjust the
number to suit. You will see the rows displayed in the editor as <TR>
tags, and the columns as <TD> tags. You should insert your text or
	images between the <TD></TD> tags.

Form - is a very useful set of elements where you can create an
on-screen form, comprising of textboxes and buttons, so that the user
can fill in data and submit it via email. See 'Forms' below.

Line - This inserts a horizontal line across the screen. Width% can be
	adjusted.

Mailto - A special link you can insert, which, when clicked, will boot
up your email client with a new message to send to the entered Email
	address.

	(( Forms ))

When you first click the Form button to create a new form, enter the
Email address where you want the details of the form forwarded to.
You can then select what form elements you want placed in your form.
It is important that each element is given a 'Field Name' as this is
how the form's data will be processed and displayed. Be sure to use
names that are useful to your form data (eg Name, Address, Email).

Note - If you don't give a field name, that part of the form won't be
	sent.

NetWrite has been designed so that all forms created will be processed
and forwarded by a secure net resource called 'Response-o-Matic'.
This service is free, but will display a small banner on forwarded
forms. There are other customisable CGI scripts that you can add to
your website to process your forms, such as Formmail, but can be fairly
	complicated to set up.

	(( Colorize ))

You can 'Colorize' the text in the main editor pane by clicking the
small blue & red button at the bottom right of the NetWrite screen.
This will colour the text to identify the HTML tags and secondary
values, with normal text remaining uncoloured. This helps to view HTML
content and the structure of your webpage.

	(( Editor/Browser buttons ))

The Editor and Browser buttons allows you to maximise each pane, or
return to split screen mode. When the Browser is maximised, you can
click on external links and use it as a simple web browser.
