PC Lock v 1.0
---------------------

Secures your PC from unauthorized access, either during Windows Startup,
or during your absence, while you are working.

After unzipping the files, it would be a good idea to rename the directory
and the Shortcut for PCLock.exe which you have to create in your
"C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup" directory, so that the program
starts automatically every time your PC is turned on.

A much better idea instead, is to "put" the program to the system registry,as follows :
Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"
and choose Edit,New,String Value and name it with the name of the program.
Then right-click on it, choose Modify and in the Value data field, type :
 path\filename.exe /Autostart, (with a "space" before /Aurostart), where
"path" is the path where the program is found and "filename" is the new
name you have given to the program, in case you re-named it.That's all !!

Before running PC Lock for the very first time, you should run Setup.bat to register
the controls that come with the .exe file and are used by the program.

The first time the program runs, it asks for an "UnLocking Key-Combination"
and a Password that will be used to "UnLock" the PC.
They are encrypted and saved in the file "code.dat", which must be in the
same directory with the executable program.
(Here's a good Tip, which will "save" you, in case you forget your Passwords
Just erase the condents of this file -but NOT the file itself- and the next
time the program runs, it will concider it's the first time and ask
for new Passwords.)

If you use other keyboard layouts than English, there is the possibility to
"lock" the PC while working, not being able to "unlock" it again if the
Passwords you use contain English characters.
To avoid that, either the Password or the UnLocking Key-Combination should
contain ONLY Numbers.

When you turn your PC on, the program is executed automatically and informs
you about the Date and Time it was last run (saved in data.dat file in the same
directory), asking you for the Password or the UnLocking Key Combination,
 in order to proceed.
After typing it, the program "puts" itself to the System Tray with NO Icon,
just an empty space.
Right-Clicking on it, a PopUp Menu appears with the options : Run, Configure
About and Exit.

Choosing Run, a Mask of Windows Explorer appears on the screen and the PC
is "locked" until you type the right Password or the UnLocking Key-Combination,
to return to what you were doing right before.

You can ReConfigure your Passwords whenever you like by choosing "Configure".
You will be asked for your current Password (NOT the Key-Combination)
and after typing it, you can access the Configuration Mask.
(Note that your New Passwords will not take effect, until the next time
you run the program.)

To Exit the program, you have to type your Password again.

           to "C:\Windows\Fonts"

I hope you enjoy using this program as much as I enjoyed writing it !!
It's freeware and you are encouraged to use and distribute it
presuming that you won't modify it or charge any money for it.
