I live 2 hrs away, 45 min by air. I was shocked to find my favorite motel already booked and managed to get a reservation at the State Park Campgrounds, but only barely. If you have already researched Muskegon then you may take satisfaction from the fact the the roads to Grand Rapids are excellent. The camp ground is "on pavement" with painted lines to mark the spots. Everything else is sand so the park can't accomodate "doubling up" on the sites. Your only recourse is to get one of those camping guides and call all the independent camp grounds folks. This'll be the season test of me recently hail damaged camper. Nothings is simple, lately. Do people actually stay as far away as Grand Rapids and commute? Helllppp!! (Looks as if we may be sleeping in the car!)
