I saw the Big Easy Featherweight mentioned in the 'no wind' thread. Is this a Ray Bardelon kite of MEFM fame? How is it better in low winds than a Maxi? Anyone? Cheers... How is it better in low winds than >a Maxi? Hi Bruce, My wife has a Featherweight and I have the Maxis. The featherweight is really, really light, maybe 5.5 to 6 ozs and very frail compared to the maxi. I flew it a couple o times and it does seem to fly easier in no wind than the maxi does but when there is any wind at all it scares me to fly it (frail and all, and of course it's not mine). The wisker tension is fully adjustable instead of bungie corded as on the maxi, The bridle on the feather is spectra rather than dacron. The frame is g force skinney and they mean skinney.(about 4mm at the skinney end. Linda says they don't make it anymore "so what's the point" dick b. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Wed, 21 Jun 1995 06:17:33 -1000 From: bforest@bliss.demon.co.uk (bruce forest) Message-Id: Organization: Demon Internet News Service Subject: Re: Big Easy Featherweight? I just was wondering if it was a new Bordelon kite. I want a Maxi, please! Thanks... For no and light outdoor conditions it's excellent. I haven't flown a maxi yet, but I prefer an 8 foot kite to a 10 foot, especially indoors. They're not making them anymore? Ray showed me an even lighter kite he had at the AKA convention called a Wisp (I believe). I wonder what ever happened to that one? Also, has anyone seen or used Ray's Governor for the MEFM which was picture in this summer's American Kite? Mark V = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
