There was some game two years ago (maybe Lunatix) of which
I remember the author was frustrated with the idea of having to
include a walkthrough, and he ended up doing something sneaky
with making the game generate the walkthrough, but only if the
current date was before the end of the judging period, so
that the game would have a walkthrough during the competition
but not after it (despite the original executable being archived).

This posted explanation by the author had left me with the
impression that that particular year it had been a requirement
(hence the extreme effort on that author's part). Obviously
that impression was incorrect, but perhaps I'm not the only
one who had drawn the wrong conclusion from that event.

Or maybe I'm just remembering it all totally wrong.
