Anyone ever play Robot Rascals by Electronic Arts? It is a computer 
game/card game where both the cards and the game basically had equal effect
on game play.
Basically, a bunch a robots all race around a landscape trying to
collect items as fast as possible. There were all sorts of fun special
effects and items, you could steal from other robots, toss items other
robots need into water (which later could be dried up), that sort of thing.  
Plus each turn often had a special rule like 'free scanning' or 'no 
teleporting'.
Plus there were cards with strange effects, like 'pass the trash' where
everyone passes a card to the person to the right, a card where you can't
win if you have it, one that lets you look at another player's hand, and
other odd things.
The computer/card or board game cross never worked very well for any
game, simply because it seems a little strange to have a bunch of friends
come over to play cards around the computer. :)
