...I haven't played this game for *years*, so my memories of it must be a
bit hazy. But, still...

(spoilers)

There's the bit where you climb down the cliff with the aid of a rope.
There's a chest down there. As I remember it, you can't climb back up the
rope with the chest. After a bit, a guy walks by and offers to bring the
chest up... well, and you know the rest.

Well, I was playing the copy that came in the copy of "The Zork
Anthology" that I finally managed to lay hands on (and in which, much to
my amusement, they still did not supply the zork0.mg1 file) and was
surprised to find that I *could* climb the rope with the chest, and never
see the man and wind up stuck with a locked chest. Oh, and the rope
dissapears, too.

At first, I thought it was a bug with the new fancy version of Zip I was
using (the latest MS-DOS "enhanced" one), but it happened with plain
vanilla Zip too, and only then did I think to try it with Activision's
interpreter. It too did the same thing.

So is my memory faulty (and is there a rationale for the rope
dissapearing that I don't know)? Or what?
