I finally took the plunge and purchased Return to Zork a while back
(Macintosh CD-ROM, evidently different from earlier release at a couple
locations). With a little help, I eventually finished with 225 out of 225.

My question is this - has anyone ever completely filled out the notebook
(given to you by the schoolteacher)? I think I had about 5 or 6 pages
still empty when I went into the Citadel. Is there any
interesting/exciting consequences to filling out the entire notebook?

Incidentally, I thought it was very well done. There were a few annoying
puzzles that I must not have had the required perspective to understand the
set-up (the Bowman for one - since he was in the Singing Forest and not the
Whispering Woods). For most puzzles, hints were copiously flowing in this
game provided you were methodical about asking EVERY character about
EVERYTHING - much more than the "old" Infocom. I really relied strongly on
the tape recorder/camera/map "database" once I realized how truly powerful
they could be.

As heretical as this may sound, I'm actually waiting for other CD-ROM
releases. In the meantime, I guess I'll just finish out my LTOI 1 & 2. :)
