I believe "Go 2 paces north" and similar sentences are parsed.

Yes, there is.  You'll know it when you find it.  Until then, saying
more would be a major spoiler.

If you know the druid's way to travel, then you can recover your
inventory.  Otherwise, it's possible to place your inventory in the
garden ahead of time.

He likes to gamble. Even with no stakes, he'll play just for the heck
of it.
