In rec.arts.intfict Pat Shepard made the following observation to me:

> I'm not sure this will be helpful. I've completed about a dozen
> Infocom games, all without hints. BUT some took me more than a year
> before I had the "aha" experience that let me solve them. People
> differ greatly on how hard they find games (I was *amazed* to see

> Hard) and many people simply don't use hints - ever.

Which seems reasonable, so I'll make an ammendment to my posting and
say that the number of hints used to complete an IF is a guideline as to
what constitutes Easy / Hard / etc. Just let me know what difficulty
levels you believe were the case.

Incidentally, only 3 people have replied so far (if you 3 want to make
any changes in light of the above then let me know). Please please will
more of you wondeful chaps out there send me your difficulty lists.
