While some people will probably give you shopping lists, I'll try to
give some "higher-level" advice:  If you're good at writing IF, you
can get away with just about anything.  If you find you can't get
away with doing some specific thing, you might want to let it go for
a while, and get back to the problem when you've developed your
craft some more.

Also, mimesis is overrated.  And underdefined...or overdefined,
maybe.
