OK, sorry, I stand corrected.  Under UK law, damages have been recovered
from such cases I believe.  Certainly, one of the companies I've done
consulting for once ended up with a hefty bill because the Windows licenses
they were using were Dell OEM licenses, and the machines were Viglens...
That didn't get to court though, the company were approached after a
software audit and basically said 'OK, our fault, we didn't check; how much
do you want?'.
