Looking into it; I know there are at least a few people who with
non-upgradable devices that are running 3.3 and earlier but are interested
in running PalmHugo.

It may or may not be just an API issue (as most 3.1 vs. 3.5 API things could
potentially be worked around).  A greater headache is memory management,
which even in 3.5 is nothing to cheer about, and causes substantially more
tears in earlier releases.  It'll take some looking into.

It's on the list, though.
