Nah, it's not that bad.  I could (and would, given the opportunity)
probably trudge through at least half of a Russian piece of IF.  I think
I remember enough that, dictionary in hand, I could meander for quite a
while.

Can't help you with Esperanto, though.  I looked at it on my last "let's
learn a language" kick, and it didn't impress me enough to bother with.
