Effectively, Adam *is* using bitmap fonts in a way that is
memory-inefficient and makes the UI more clumsy (the output
jumps between two windows, and you can't scrollback to see
what was said when conversing). Seems like the solution is just
to allow real bitmap fonts and blow off portable outline fonts.
