I was tempted to point out the irony in the statement (to Mr. Cadre, I believe)
to the effect of, "shut up, I'm allowed to say what I want."  But then I thought
that would be mean.

It's still mean.  But I'm in a less-happy mood today (grrr...relatives) than I
was the first time.
