Which "kind of app"?  You'll note that I never stated a specific plan.  I have
one, but it's long-term and I haven't mentioned it to anyone...

Ding-ding-ding!  Some people--and this may surprise you--actually program for
the fun of it.  And a new language is a nice new slant.

Not all skills need be marketable or useful.

Similarly, there's no reason to cook one's own food, when there are restaurants
and pre-prepared foods.  And no reason to know how one's car engine works,
because there are mechanics.  And so on.

Heh...You are someone who obviously fails to understand the concept of "geek
appeal."  So there.
