My day job involves writing server-side plug-in modules for Netscape Web
servers.

It has caused my opinion of Netscape to drop from foul to downright
unprintable.

So I'm not too surprised.

The only thing I can say is: find a copy of Fetch, which is an FTP client
for the Mac which is reasonably easy to use, and which will let you pull
files off ftp.gmd.de correctly. Use "binary" or "raw data" mode (but not
"MacBinary.")
