        Yes they are. Your cluelessness and the unlikelihood of you being
caught are what make you _think_ it's legal.  (At least when I have pirated I 
realized I was doing something illegal.. I have since bought the programs I 
use.)

	I urge you to call up ASCAP and ask them if copying a CD you bought
for friends was legal.
