There is also the possibility of fair use... Under the US copyright code 
"fair use" allows you to make use of a subset of a copyrighted work for 
commentary, parody, or criticism.   There are restrictions on how much 
you can excerpt from a work, enough to make your point, but not enough to 
constitue a reproduction of it.   I don't know of any Net-based resources 
for you to research this, but the fair use provisions should prove 
helpful if you're worried about lawyers.
