I was in the middle of mapping out a Tads game based around the city of
Vancouver when an idea struck me. Although good IF needs an excellent
plot to interest the player, familiar surroundings can provide a
comfortable setting for the player as well.

So....

How would you feel about a series of Tads games based in the same setting?
The player would know their way around the "world"...perhaps discovering
new places in different "episodes" and of course have different
objectives in each part. My informal plan would be to create a Tads map
of a world where other programmers could add objects, players and puzzles
to create a series of games. There would be no limitations on what rooms
the writer could add to the "world", but they wouldn't be able to take
anything away from the original.

Is anyone interested in commenting on this? Could it create interesting
games? Or would the results be too bland and generic?

Cheers!
