Hi all. Well, I've finally set aside some time to do some IF programming. I'm
going to start out with a simulation of my house. (I doubt anyone will want
to play in my house, but I think it will be neat!) Before I start, however,
I want to make sure I've got the right equipment.

I have my registered copy of TADS purchased around Xmastime. It's version
2.1 as far as I can see. I remember reading of a TADS update. What exactly
was this update and should I be getting it?

All this question of porting TADS has been quite interesting to me. I have a
NeXTStation that I would rather be developing code on (much better GUI and tools
than a PC!), but there is no port for this system as far as I can see. Is this
correct? Also, why is no one getting an official notice from High Energy
Software on this porting question? It would seem only logical to hear from
them.

Last thing, it seems that there are two development systems out there. TADS
and Inform. I vote we never, ever again debate which one is better than the
other and simply comment about the relative merits of both systems. I, for
one, would like to know things that can be done in one system that can't be
done in the other.

Okay, so I lied. One more thing...is there anyone out there looking for a
TADS programmer to assist in a game project. Rather than one person developing
a game, it would seem that a group of programmers would be better off. Most
of the good games these days (okay, delete most, I'm using vi and don't feel
like fixing that) have been developed by groups of programmers (my apologies for
the author of Curses!). If a bunch of us got together, one wicked game could
be made, I would think.
If no one wants to bunch together, than is there still some IF group
out there who needs an aspiring TADS programmer?

Whew, that hurt!,
Talk at ya later,

Jean Duteau -- There may be a .sig following this message. If so, kill it and
report it to the SPCA. I've been hunting it for awhile but it's quite
persistent.

If Tod gets a girl, why do I get Chief????
