Installation question

Does anyone know if the Minix installation software can handle a bare hard
disk? A recent effort yielded the error record shown below.

This was tried with one hard disk with a total space of 125 MB's. At the start
of this effort the disk was partitioned with only one partition taking all
available space. This partition was inactive, ie, not bootable.

Here is a rough record of the process:

start of MINIX installtion --------->>>
please finish the name of the primary partition you have created:
(just type bla bla bla bla) /dev/hd1

you have created a partition named: /dev/hd1

The following sub partitions are about to be created on /dev/hd1:

	Root subpartition:	/dev/hd1a	1440 kb
	/usr subpartition:	/dev/hd1c	rest of hd1

Hit return if everything looks fine or hit DEl bla bla
bla. The next step will destroy /dev/hd1.

migrating from floppie to disk...

usage: mkfs bla, bla

Scanning /dev/hd1c for bad blocks bla, bla
Scan done.
mount: /dev/hd1c is not a valid file system.
