Hello:

I am just beginning my sojourn into Minix. (for that matter, into the
world of *nix) I have limited experience with Linux (I am writing this
courtesy of Mandrake 6.5).

My problem is that I cannot seem to use fdvol on my win98 machine to
make the disks, so I will have to make them on Linux (probably better
way to learn anyway). I have tried pasting the argument below on the
command line (replacing whatever.taz with the path to the CD. It doesn't
work, and I'm to ignorant of the command line to know what I'm doing
wrong. The following is what I am trying to use:

dd if=/mnt/cdrom/MINIX/I386/USR.TAZ of=/dev/fd0 bs=1440k count=1 skip=3

Could someone help correct whatever the problem is with the line, or in
the alternative, tell me how to find fdvol on the win98 OS - if it
exists at all :-(

Thank you ahead of time for helping an old dog trying to learn new
tricks.
