Hello,

We have successfully installed Minix-vmd, and are in the process of
installing X Windows. However, we are having a problem starting up an X
terminal.

We are doing the following:

1. Loggin in as root.
2. Then we type
            inet &
3. After, we type
            uname -n 127.0.0.1

4. Then we type
            nonamed &

5. Then, we linked XF86_SVGA to X. (We also tried to link XF86_Mono to
X when the XF86_SVGA didn't work).
6. Then, we modified the XF86Config file so that the monitor
settings were set according to our monitor specifications and for our
video device, we uncommented the specs for the Trident 9000 (which is
the video card that we have).

Can anyone give us an idea as to what we are doing wrong.

P.S. We tried using "startx" and "xinit" but neither popped up an
Xterm. They just freeze.

Thanks
