In the Tinyroot disk images, of course there is a kernel image on the root
floppy, but it is outside the filesystem.  The image you install on hard disk
is somewhere on the TINYUSR1 floppy, I think it's in /tmp/minix.  It's been
some time since I installed minix on an 8088 PC, and the 486 I'm on now 
doesn't even have a 5.25 inch floppy drive.
