Just a report from the trenches.  I got a new K6-2/450 MHz machine
recently for work, but I first loaded up Minix since it's so small and
easy to get going.

I selected the standard options that I use of AT disk, Ethernet, disable
the RAM disk, increase the buffers to use 4 M, etc.
If you will, it's a "big" Minix configuration, with almost all drivers
enabled.

I started it compiling the kernel, and I had to wait...... all of 14
seconds! before it finished!

That's impressive!
