There should be no need to do any porting--the IIgs already has a Unix port of its
own.  It is called GNO and it is freely available at http://www.gno.org .  I have
not used GNO (yet) but it sounds like it is a pretty good implementation--it has
protected memory, preemptive multitasking, near Posix compliance, etc.

(By the way, GNO is still under active development.  In fact, a new version, 2.0.6,
was released just days ago.)
