I have created a replacement console and keyboard driver for Minix 1.7.2
that implement Virtual Consoles. In case you don't know: VCs allow you
to have several login sessions on the one console. By using a special
key you can switch from one virtual console to another.

The file to get is:

	ftp://ftp.cs.vu.nl/pub/minix/contrib/1.7.2/vircons.uue

or alternatively:

	http://www.cs.vu.nl/ftp/minix/contrib/1.7.2/vircons.uue

The new console driver keeps all the virtual consoles in video memory.
Each console needs 4000 bytes, so you need a CGA card or better. (A
monochrome card only has 4k memory.)

It is uncertain whether this new driver will be part of the Minix
distribution in the next releases (or ever.) It doesn't help Al
Woodhull much if I keep changing the source he is trying to describe in
the next O.S. book. I will adapt vircons.uue to a new release if
necessary.
