A good guess.  I have put an "if (0)" before the call that sets the
cursor shape (simply look for the word "SHAPE" in kernel/console.c),
and I admit that the little flashing underline cursor is a lot nicer
than the big full hight blinking cursor Minix normally uses.  (Alas the
blinking can't be turned off.)

Unless Andy stops me, this is how it will be.  (Andy == AST.)
