You can try 1.7 (ftp from cs.vu.nl); you'll obviously need the 16-bit
version, and preferable a floppy > 360KB capacity, and an HD.  I don't
think PH has academic discounts, tho' 1.5 software is free for academic
use.  What does your prof say?
