right.
if you get this message when kermit is running also, then
KILL KERMIT first.

otherwise try looking for a /usr/spool/uucp/lock
file, and just rm' the offender.

on the other hand...
i've been noticing some trouble with flow control apparently.
(some times it works sometimes it doesnt.
looks like kermit works all the time with whatever internal
flow control is used, but rz/term only sometimes
(there doesnt seem to be a stty setting for it :(
