Except for the IslandDraw-Pictures "agg.drw","cplusplus.drw"
and "knl.drw", these figures (local-total.*) were made using
the program Canvas3.0 on a Macintosh.
The way from a Canvas-file "x" on the Mac to a
postscript-file "x.eps" on the Sun was a long one:

1. Save figure "x" from Canvas in EPSF-format "x.EPSF" (Mac)

2. Use the program "Dateien konvertieren" (Mac)
    - use "x.epsf" on the Mac as source
    - use "mac-x.eps" on the Sun as target

3. For it was not possible for us to import these files directly
   in the latex documents (latex reported errors) we used the
   program "IslandDraw" (Sun)
    - choose "Convert..." from the file menu
    - use "Open and convert from" "mac-x.epsf"
    - adapt the size of the figure to the original size
      using "Options::setup" and "Edit::scale"
    - choose again "Convert..." from the file menu
    - use "Save and convert to" "x.epsi"

Any suggestions to improve or shorten this procedure welcome.
