See README.TXT for installation and ECHOVIEW.HLP for
documentation.

This fixed version of EchoView was necessary because of a
bug when trying to scan web mine hit messages, and another
one when trying to read a game without starbases.

It offers also a switch for the new hyperjump calculations
introduced in HOST32b3c.

No changes were made to the file formats.

Known problems :
 - message editor will not work with all screen resolutions
   due to font problems.
 - when using WINPLAN's internal MAKETURN, messages written
with EchoView, PHOST commands, PHOST alliance commands,
and Informer messages will not be sent. This is due to
the different message file format of WINPLAN.
 - Using the Reload Game button of EchoView will cause
an error when WINPLAN is open (sharing violation).

Upgrade to version 1.02
 Replace old SCANMESS.DAT, UNPACK35.EXE, ECHOVIEW.HLP
 and ECHOVIEW.EXE files.
If you used SCANMESS.EXE, replace it, too.

New feature :
 - the integrated hyperjump utility has now a switch which
implements the new hyperjump math. Check the box, if you
play in a game with HOST32b3c upwards. (Note: none of the
two hyperjump maths will work correctly with HOST32b3b)

Bug fixes :
 - in SCANMESS.DAT : web mine hit record definition was wrong
 - entries in SCANMESS.DAT with wrong ID caused crash
 - empty ship name in message caused crash
 - game without planets or bases caused crash
 - mine radius was rounded instead of truncated in starmap
 - explosion window wasn't restored correctly
 - a scanned minefield could show up as having an unknown owner
due to the owner setting in kore??.dat
 - ships first encountered in a battle had strange masses
 - gather supplies mission not reported correctly
 - deleting a line from the starmap sometimes caused other
   lines to vanish
 - in the minefield dialog, the number of mines was limited
   to 65535

Minor changes :
 - UnPack35 will give a message when no HOST3.2 info is found
(e.g. in HOST32b3c games when playing with DOS planets)
 - SCANMESS.DAT can also be in the game directory

Upgrade to version 1.01
 Replace old SCANMESS.DAT, ECHOVIEW.HLP and ECHOVIEW.EXE files.
If you used SCANMESS.EXE, replace it, too.

Bug fixes :
 - PHOST planet record reported minerals in ground instead
   of in stock
 - possible bug fixed : game specs dialog had no parent window
 - severe bug fix : old message with battle result or mine
   scan caused GPF
 - old messages were not correctly scanned (now the message
scanner will look for the keyword OLD MESSAGE)
 - in SCANMESS.DAT : ground attack had wrong record number

Minor changes
 - heading of enemy ship is now reset after battle
 - Crystall Ball data can now be loaded from directories
   other than the game directory

And : Thanks to Andrew, Sean, Rick and Joshua and all the
others for beta-testing and helpful comments.

Thanks to Tim Wisseman for his cooperation.

Thanks to all the people for finding the bugs !
