			Planetary Data

(P) Stormgate 1:
Stormgate 1, 9 X 18 sectors, has no atmosphere, a temperature of 100 to 240 degrees Fahrenheit, and a gravity of 1.1 G.
Stormgate 1 is a very warm planet. The terrain is mostly craterous. The side of Stormgate 1 facing the sun is a very dangerous place to land a ship. No moons orbit this planet.

(P) Stormgate 2:
Stormgate 2, 17 X 34 sectors, has no atmosphere, a temperature of -10 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit, and a gravity of 2.8 G. One small crater is visible.
Stormgate 2, being very close to Stormgate 3, occasionally has severe earthquakes. Various pockets of gases lie just beneath its surface, often opening up into the atmosphere. No moons orbit this planet.

(P) Stormgate 3:
Stormgate 3 is a very typical gas giant. No moons orbit this planet.

(P) Stormgate 4: Colonies - USS Quay, EEM Greyheath, IMP Ross Landing, CSS Enterprise, CSS Furnace Bluff, EEM Romulus, USS Sulphuric
Stormgate 4, 36 X 52 sectors, has an atmosphere of oxygen/nitrogen (breathable), a temperature of -50 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and a gravity of 1.0 G. It has 1 land mass and is 50% liquid.
Stormgate 4 is sometimes called the "gem" of the Stormgate system. It is a habitable planet with no sentient life forms yet discovered. It is an unspoiled paradise. Two moons, Abyss and Awry, orbit this planet.

	(M) Abyss: Colonies -	GTT Phyre
Abyss, 2 X 3 sectors, has no atmosphere, a temperature of -50 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit, and a gravity of .4 G. Abyss is the larger of the two moons orbiting the planet of Stormgate 4. This moon could be a wandering asteroid which travelled too close and was captured by Stormgate 4's gravitational field. The terrain here is rocky and rough but not very craterous.

	(M) Awry:
		Awry, 1 X 2 sectors, has no atmosphere, a temperature of -50 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit, and a gravity of .3 G.
Awry is the smaller of the two moons that orbit the planet Stormgate 4. This moon has no atmosphere and no appearance of life. The terrain is flat with a few scatter craters.

(P) Stormgate 5:
Stormgate 5 is the outermost planet in the Stormgate system. It is a small gas giant. No moons orbit this planet.

Additional Information

Stormgate 4
Klock: The klock almost resembles a cross between a terran monkey and a squirrel. It has 2 upper and 4 lower limbs. These enable the small creatures to obtain rapid movement. Although they are normally alone, occasional packs of 250 or more can be seen.

Xander: Xander is the only flying lifeform on Stormgate 4. It has two primary wings and four secondary wings. It almost constantly flies in odd circles, loops and patterns. The Xander makes no noises and will occasionally follow humans for long periods of time.

Kih and Folo: Kih is a moss type vegetation covering almost any surface it encounters. It moves about 1 ft. per tu. Folo is a vine-like plant which may seek to grab anything within its reach. Extreme cold is the only way to kill it. Both kih and folo are found on the planet Stormgate 4. No reason has been found for folo's grasping - it is not carnivorous, nor intelligent, and its grasp is easily escaped.

Evergreed and Jol: Evergreed is an evergreen-like tree on the planet Stormgate 4. This plant is greedy for space to survive. It kills off the other plant life nearby for a 10-24 ft. radius. Jol is a shrub type plant found in hilly areas.

Stormgate 4 seawater: This seawater has a very high mineral content. This has made many of the non-plant lifeforms on Stormgate 4 strong and healthy. Most of the life on this planet lives in the sea. Few animals can live far from the nutritious seawater.

Plantlife of Stormgate 4: The plantlife of this planet dominates the land, but not the sea of this planet. A small variety of the herbivores keeps the land from being overwhelmed by plantlife. Some of the plantlife of this planet includes glass, evergreed, jol, kih, and folo.
Glass: Glass is a shiny, sometimes blinding form of plantlife that covers the plains of Stormgate 4. Many herbivores live off this vegetation.

Forests of Stormgate 4: You notice that the forests of this planet are composed of tall but narrow trees. They are green/blue in color - including their trunks. Several are completely covered with kih vegetation and those trees appear to be dying slowly. You notice at least 2 varieties of herbivore but were unable to capture them.

Mer and Humans: The mer are terrified of humans. They claim they have never attacked anyone and do not appear warlike in nature. The ISS has ruled that visitors to this planet must avoid the mer. They fear a form of "racial shock" may be transmitted to them.

Stormgate 4 Event: During the week 3 year 184 Mt. Gwad located in sector 18-30 erupted in a massive explosion. It sent a plume of volcanic ash high into the atmosphere. Visible almost anywhere on the planet's surface, the plume appears to be dropping substantial quantities of ash to the northeast of the volcano. There is no indication that the eruption will stop in the near future. [Note: this eruption was artificially induced by a nuclear explosion at a key point on the volcano. The intent was to damage another colony on the planet, and it was successful. The victimized governor never suspected the eruption was contrived.]
