Planetary Data

(P) Ankurs Avay: Colonies - IMP Strombor
Ankurs Avay, 17 X 34 sectors, has an atmosphere of ethane/propane, a temperature
of 40 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit, and a gravity of 1.2 G. It has one small land
mass (7 sectors) and the rest sea. There are a fair amount of shallow sea
sectors in the NE, and the southern hemisphere has not yet been explored for
shallows. This is a chemically active world with positive signs of most of the
simpler hydrocarbons. The world has no moons.

(P) Foxfire: Colonies -	FET Newr' Lyeh, IMP Libya
Foxfire, 11 X 18 sectors, has no atmosphere, a temperature of -59 degrees
Fahrenheit, and a gravity of 1.4 G. Foxfire is a small dense world that has no
atmosphere, although there are signs that it once had one. Foxfire has no moons.

(P) Hades 536: Colonies - SMS Samothrace, SMS Devil's Gorge
Hades 536, 11 X 22 sectors, has an atmosphere of carbon dioxide, a temperature
of 245 degrees Fahrenheit, and a gravity of 1.1 G. This is a hot world with a
tight orbit around the sun. It, like most planets named after mythological
infernos, is within the tolerance range of humans. It has no moons.

(G) Jorf:
Jorf is the name of the gas giant in the Spikan system. It has no moons.

(P) Kolars: Colonies - IMP Danzig, KZK Kzurchia Hive, KZK Island Hive,
KZK Michiarak Hive, KZK Chiador Hive
Kolars, 36 X 52 sectors, has an atmosphere of carbon dioxide/oxygen, a
temperature of 35 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit, and a gravity of 1.9 G. The
surface of this planet is shrouded in fog due to high humidity. The planet
has no moons.

(P) Omie: Colonies - GTT Karma Sutra
Omie, 9 X 18 sectors, has an atmosphere of an unknown gas, a temperature of 70
to 110 degrees Fahrenheit, and a gravity of .7 G. A deep depression in sectors
6-7, 5-8, 6-9, 6-8, and 7-8. The information collected through the probing of
this planet contained a few gaps. The data concerning the atmosphere was
inconclusive and additional direct sampling must be performed to determine
composition. The surface readings were as if it was between land & sea in
consistency. The surface features appear to be some drastic elevation change
of the surrounding area. There are no moons.

Additional Information

Ankur's Avay
Ankur's Avay Surface Observations: The weather situation on Ankur's Avay is
very turbulent. The planet is constantly exposed to gale force storms and
massive electrical discharges. The lightning is so severe that 50% of any
aircraft operating on this planet will be forced to abort any planned missions.
Another unusual factor is that there seems to be no precipitation associated
with these massive weather disturbances.

Ankur's Avay Water Analysis: All water located on Ankur's Avay is rich in low
molecular weight hydrocarbons. It appears that the high electrical activity in
the atmosphere is responsible for the formation of these compounds.

The small island on Ankur's Avay is mostly rough and mountainous, with the
mountains going right to the sea. There are no beaches. There appears to be a
fair amount of shallow sea, especially in the NE section of the map, extending
from sector 14-25 eastward, and from row 12 to 16. This is the only area of
the planet that has been thoroughly explored for shallows (scatter pattern used
elsewhere), although the water immediately surrounding the island appears to be
deep.

Foxfire
Foxfire Subsurface Exploration (2): While excavating the structures you
located what appears to be the crushed mummified remains of 25 to 30 humanoid
beings. It appears they were killed when the ceiling caved in on them. Each
stands about 7 ft. tall, bipedal and have two arms. Instead of having fingers
they possess ten tentacles on each hand. They have 2 small eyes, a small
circular mouth and two long tentacles on the side of their heads. Bins of a
grain are also discovered.

In addition, these facts were determined: Foxfire lost its atmosphere some
50-100 years ago, the exact cause is unknown. The native life included at one
time small rodents of various types, plus an alien race. The apparent
technological level of the aliens was that of early Egyptians. They had stone
buildings, small hand carts, writing (on paper), a controlled distribution
system for grain and an organize agricultural society. No living aliens have
been found, however some mummified remains have been. An alien document has
been found which describes sector 3-11 as an alien city called "Central City".

Kolars
Florian Fern: This is a fern that grows in the swamps of Kolars. It has a
mild but sweet smell of peppermint. It is olive green in coloration. The
swamps appear to be completely covered with this plant, making exploration
difficult, especially sightings from aircraft.

Biolab Analysis of Florian Fern: The biolab shows that this plant is not
harmful to humans nor is it addictive. One biolab may convert this plant in 30
tu's to 1 mu of luxury goods.

Kolars Butterflies: This is a large insect measuring a wing span of six to
seven inches. The colors vary from solid green to a bright yellow to a deep
purple. This butterfly has 6 limbs, dual wings and a very large set of
mandibles.

Biolab Analysis of Kolarian Butterfly: This is a very deadly carnivorous
insect. Its mandibles are able to tear the toughest fibers and since they are
found in groups of several hundred, they can be extremely dangerous.

Bimojac: This is a small lizard that bares a strong resemblance to a miniature
crocodile. The Bimojac measures 3 ft. in length, with half of that tail. Its
eyes are mounted on 7 inch stalks, which it lies immobile below. The Bimojac
lives primarily off of the butterflies but it has a terrible temper and will
attack anything if provoked.

Sporok: The sporok is a small but deadly snake found on Kolars. While it is
extremely poisonous it is not very aggressive unless disturbed while feeding or
mating. These snakes are very quick, and possess minute wing- like membranes
along their flanks. When aroused these swell to twice their normal size and
allow the sporok to make amazing powerful leaps.

Kolarian Night Crawler: This is a snake like creature that measures about two
feet in length. The night crawler possesses a large beak like object at its
front which it uses to tear prey apart. However the night crawler is very slow
and requires the assistance of stealth, ambush, and luck to aid it in its hunt
as they are completely blind. Their main sense appears to be that of touch and
hearing as they seem not to have any sense of smell.

Kolarian Foot Print: You discover a foot print in the mud that appears fresh.
While not the foot print of a human it is that of a humanoid. It measures in
length and width: 10.5 inches and 5.38 inches respectively. The print shows
that the creature has six digits, with webbing between five of the digits and
the sixth (and outside) digit having a hooked claw. The depth of the tracks
and the length of stride indicates the creature was about 4 1/2 feet tall and
weighing approximately 80 pounds.

The Sink Hole Trap: You lose ? [members of your party] when the sink hole trap
is sprung. This is a large box like device. It is sunk in the swamp and when
the trapdoor at the top is stepped upon the prey and the swamp are forced into
the box, with the result that the prey drowns.

Gentibree: The Gentibree is a small pig like animal found in the forests of
Kolars. It appears this animal is the primary food source of most of the
forest and winged hunters. The pig weighs abut 20 to 32 pounds. It is also
one of the most prolific breeders on the world, with 16 to 20 piglets to a
litter and 2 to 3 litters a year. The piglets are themselves able to breed in
about 9 months.

Gentibree Biolab Analysis: The Gentibree seem to have a short gestation period
and are able to become impregnated while still pregnant. The life of a female
gentibree is a continuous pregnancy. Gentibree are not suitable in any way for
luxury goods, but can be eaten by humans. Butchering 1 gentibree produces 1/2
mu of food.

Polliwog Malevolus: Inhabiting certain bodies of water this lifeform closely
resembles the common terran tadpole or josin astokhi, but the polliwog
malevolus grows to about 250 grams. It is very carnivorous and aggressive!
They hatch from large "colonies" of eggs of up to several hundred thousand, but
of these only a few hundred are still alive after a couple of weeks. Warning,
they hatch with sharp teeth and hungry.

Kolar Tripp Roots: This plant is found in the swamps of Kolars. It floats on
the swamp surface and resembles a large blue egg on a large blue green dinner
plate. It has many long (up to six feet) tentacles that it uses to capture
small animals. The tips of the tentacles have a poison sac which contains a
very corrosive acid.

The Bando Tree: This is a small tree found growing in the plains and the swamp
periphery. The sap from this plant has a very high carbon composition and
other trace elements not noted in nature before now.

Bando Crystals: When sap from the Bando tree is mixed with silicon and baked
at a very high temperature, it will form crystals that are hard as carborundum.
The natives of Kolars mold these crystals for use as projectiles. However the
crystals do tend to degenerate over time.

Beware of ground exploration of Kolars, ground parties lose an average of one
member per turn to various hostile life forms. Kolars has been described as a
Deathworld.

There are at least two native sentient races on this planet, the Kolarians and
the Kazereckii. First the information on the Kazereckii.

Observation of hive in sector 35-41 (before it became a KZK colony): You find
an island causeway leading to a large cavity in the ground. The walls of the
cavity are composed of some sort of stone. The unknown GP took to their heels
as soon as you started your approach but now as you look around there is no
sign of them. Impressions of crew: "No way this was built by humans" "Did you
see that weird battle armor?" "There is something familiar about all this" "I
tell you they were just a bunch of giant ants the colony is on a radiation
spot, that's all" "I saw them too and they looked like a cross between giant
can openers and wolves"

Description of the Kazereckii: The aliens are insectoid. They resemble ants
in appearance. There appear to be at least two types. They carry some sort of
projectile weapon as well as crossbows. The short ones do all the talking,
they use a black box that translates their speech into "Kolarian". They are
cautious but not hostile.

The Kazereckii are some of the best ground fighters in the periphery and will
hire their services out to any who need it. They do not recognize Imperial
law. They apparently eat other sentient life forms, using them in a way
similar to the "Aliens" in the movie "Alien", and "Aliens". They are very
similar to the Samillians, and have shipbuilding technology. They presently
own one Delta Class vessel (400-500-10), the KZK Kazereck. They also are at
war with the Kolarians, and beat the Kolarians badly in battle. They use these
battles as training for new warriors. Similar to the SAM, they have two
warrior classes, warrior and super warrior. Although they claim the entire
Spikan system, they presently only inhabit Kolars, although it is believed that
they once had an Empire.

The Second Kolars Accord: It basically says: The governor of Danzig
recognizes the sovereignty of the Kazereckii over Kolars and the Spikan system.
The Kazereckii recognize the governor of Danzig as the spokesman for humankind.
The Kazereckii allow the colony on Kolars as long as it pays 20 percent of all
minerals mined other than the one on which Danzig is founded. Danzig is given
the right to regulate, in council with the Kazereckii, the founding of any
other human colony on Kolars. Danzig and the Kazereckii will come to each
others mutual defense in times of war. Effective week 31/186.

Spikan Accord: Grants the Kazereckii sovereignty over the Spikan system. KZK
laws are basically the same as Imperial laws. Human ships are free to operate
in the system, and to colonize with KZK permission.

The second sentient race on Kolars, the Kolarians, ride a large and dangerous
domesticated beast called a snorvokorus. The Kolarians are presumably the race
specified in the footprint blurb above. The race negotiated with the colony
IND Fernwood after losing several thousand natives while trying to attack the
colony. The natives actually succeeded in temporarily seizing the outer ring
(#5), but were beaten back with severe casualties. For unknown reasons, the
colony was later forced to become a ground party, perhaps because of a second,
more successful attack. The problem centers around the native worship of the
"mother ground" and were angered over the colony's mining activities. The
presence of the Kazereckii was established by bodies found by explorers from
Fernwood, who found the scene of a recent battle between the two races. A
colonist was abducted from Fernwood, and when returned was infected with
virulent spores. Fernwood was quarantined by ISS order while the ISS
investigated rumors of mistreatment and mass slaughter/liquidation of the
planet's native race were true. Investigation concluded and Fernwood
acquitted. The natives are, according to the examination, "extremely" healthy.
Coupled with their knowledge of the medical sciences and their rather backward
civilization, they might be the remnants of a once advanced civilization that
was destroyed by a biological war. The natives communicate over long distances
via drums. Words learned so far are: We, not we, other we, thunder, day,
fast, deathriders, airboxriders, nerve deadener, ------ spores, shaman council,
long talkers, wait-see-wait, sickness, home, defiler, many-for- keepers,
emfold, callers, failure, many for, those-that-keep. The Kolarians only
inhabit the swamp and forest areas on the planet.

Omie
Omie Atmosphere Analysis: After direct samples of Omie's atmosphere are taken
and analyzed, it is determined that the atmosphere is of artificial origin. It
is composed of an oxide of an unknown metal/nonmetal. It appears that the thin
layer of atmosphere is used to stabilize and protect the jelly-like substance
in the trench.

Omie Trench Exploration #1: Upon closer examination you are able to determine
that the trench's straight edges lie only above the surface of the jelly. The
side and bottom of the trench is rough and covered with and unusual coral-like
growth. The trench goes down for a distance of 5 miles. You are only able to
go down a few hundred feet before the jelly starts to interfere with your
craft's maneuverability.

Omie Trench Exploration #2: Due to the inability of pumps to evacuate any
airlock filled with the jelly like substance, all observations must be made
remotely using external monitors. The trench is filled with various lifeforms.
Most are long with a pointed arrow like head. They vary in size from 1 to 10
feet long. A few larger creatures seem interested in your presence but do not
respond to any communication attempts. A few spherical creatures are also
seen.
