Additional Information

Bass Swinette
Domed structures located in sectors 2-3, 3-3, 2-4, 3-4. Bass Swinette is inhabited by the
Swinettians. The domes are made of the starships the Swinettians used to travel to Bass
Swinette.

A total of eight domed structures. 7 are oval shaped and 1 is L-shaped (the L is in sector 3-4).
Top of the L-shaped dome was explored and no means of entry was found. The dome is constructed
of metals/nonmetals, yet can only be breached by sequential nuclear missile detonations. A
number (50) of windows were discovered on top of the dome. The windows are not removable.
Spectro analysis of air inside the dome indicates that it is oxygen/ nitrogen/helium (breathable).
Through the dome windows are seen a white lighted interior with many alien machines which are
functioning. So far, the research lab has been unable to determine the machine's function. A
low level of gamma radiation was discovered which it is believed to come from the dome's power
plant. The gamma radiation is not harmful. The domes are approximately 40 miles wide and 70
miles long.

The base of the dome was also explored for an entrance. None was found. At least two of the
domes (and probably all) are connected by underground passage. Heat sensitive pictures of the
dome indicate that temperature in most areas inside is 70 degrees, but in some areas it rises
to 100 to 400 degrees. Some digging was done, and at 15 feet down it was discovered that the
dome rests on a solid stone foundation. Tunneling underneath is possible, but could be dangerous.

All through the initial exploration, no contact was made with the Swinettians. All sub-space
frequencies were monitored, with no result.

Located in sector ??-?? are two immense domed structures. They have no apparent means of entry.
They are non-transparent, however, there are small sections high up on the domes that are
emitting a white light. The structures are curved. However, a ship may safely land on them if
care is taken. The dome is 3000 feet at its highest point.

Dome interior (#1) (eastern dome): The interior of the dome can be seen through the transparent
windows that are located in the dome's upper structure. You see that the inside of the dome is
covered with machinery (still functioning apparently) of unknown function. You do not detect
the presence of any intelligent life forms. Your instruments do detect low levels of radiation
(not harmful, your men seem to think it is from the dome's power source).

Dome interior (#2) (western dome): The interior of this dome can be seen through windows in the
dome's upper structure. Each window opens into a relatively small room (50 ft X 50 ft). The
room is filled with computer consoles and sitting in front of the window is a large device (15
mu's) with one part of it pointing out the window. It could be a weapon or possibly a sensing
device or something else.

Dome interior (#3 and #4): The interior of the dome can be seen through the transparent windows
that are located in the dome's upper structure. Inside you can see that the surface is covered
with a lush green and yellow vegetation. You see no signs of any intelligent activity, however,
you do see some winged creatures flying in the distance.

Swinettian Soarers: These creatures appear to be somewhat reptilian in nature. The musculature
seems to indicate that the animal is not capable of flight but soars on air currents. It has a
wing span of approximately 30 ft with a body length of 9 ft. It has four clawed legs and 4
multifaceted eyes.
Dome #4 interior exploration: Upon closer examination of the dome's interior you discover that
there are a series of bright sun-like sources on the highest portion of the dome. The vegetation
is composed entirely of the matrix tree. The areas of the dome's floor below the trees is
covered with masses of jug plants. The light filtering through the canopy produces an odd
glittering orange glow which can be distracting if visors are not kept down. A series of
metallic road beds are found which are under the canopy and cannot be seen from above. The
roadway starts to slope downward as it approaches the sides of the domes. It turns into a tunnel
as it passes under the dome. The western tunnel is the only one that is not blocked by a massive
metal door.

Matrix tree: This tree is approximately 25 feet tall. It has a long narrow trunk and a
profusion of branches at the top. The leaves are composed of yellow or fine green transparent
filaments. These filaments mesh with adjacent trees to form a solid canopy over the floor of
the dome below.

Jug plants: This plant stands about 1 foot tall and has 3 to 5 jug like growths hanging from
their branches. Each jug is composed of a clear membrane like structure which encases about 1
gallon of an unknown liquid.

Jug plant analysis: Analysis shows that the liquid inside the jug plant is a complete food
source. Other than that nothing else of interest is found. Calculations indicate that each
square of forest contains about 20 mu's of food equivalents.

Connecting tunnels: Subterranean tunnels connect each dome with the domes to the east, west,
north and south. They are metallic and approximately 300 yards in width. They appear to travel
in a straight line between the center of each dome.

Dome interior exploration (#5 and #6): Upon closer exploration of the domes' interior you
discover a series of bright sun-like light sources at the highest portion of the dome. The
forest vegetation is composed of the matrix tree. The area of the dome's floor beneath the
trees is covered with masses of jug plants. The light filtering through the canopy produces
an odd glittering orange glow which can be distracting if visors are not kept down. A series
of metallic road beds are found under the canopy and cannot be seen from above. These roads
slope downward as they approach the sides of the domes and turns into a tunnel as it passes
under. The southern most area is a swampy area giving off an unbearable odor. The swamp looks
dangerous to enter, especially on foot.

Dome interior exploration (#7 and #8): Upon passing the door entering dome #7, you enter a
translucent tunnel. On the other side of the walls appear to be a liquid of some sort. You
observe random movements within the liquid. The walls prevent you from determining the size,
shape, or distance of the moving objects.

Dome #1, level 2: Once you open the door to this dome you encounter an incredible sight.
Before you is a vast area approximately 60 ft high. The extraordinary thing about it is the
1000 or so creatures working there. Individually and in groups they appear to be working on
various projects. At a quick glance the seem to be high tech jobs (i.e. making manufactured
items of some unknown nature). To the east there is a large open area which contains some
vehicles (similar to flitters) and areas where they are being serviced (?). As you opened
the door the creatures nearest the door turn and look at you. They seem to be surprised at
your appearance and a few approach you while the activity in the rest of the area comes to
a halt.

Swinettians: The Swinettians are reptilian in nature. They stand 4 feet high and have thin
scaly muscular legs. They use their narrow tail as a counter balance when moving. They are
bipedal and have two arms. They have four fingers on each hand and appear to have fine manual
dexterity. They have 2 protruding eyes which give them 360 degree vision. They have no visible
nose visible but they have obvious sharp carnivorous teeth.

Swinettian history: Over 1000 years ago the Swinettians populated the world of Far Swinette.
They developed a technology advanced in electronics and microprocessors. To assist them in
their development they relied on ever more sophisticated robots to perform the routine functions
on the planet. As time progressed the race became ever more dependent on the robots, even against
the vocal opposition of a small minority. This finally resulted in an uprising by the robots and
the virtual eradication of the Swinettians as a race. The only Swinettians that survived the
genocide were those that refused to be involved in the robotization of the planet and maintained
their individuality.

Bass Swinettian history: Since the Swinettians relied on the robots for their defenses, the
only way to survive the worldwide holocaust was to flee the planet. The only way off world was
the experimental mass acceleration facility. The facility was only used previously to set up
orbiting research platforms. However, the robots were able to be held at bay long enough for
the facility to launch a group of vessels to colonize the other planet in the system, Bass
Swinette. They were able to successfully launch the vessels before the robots adapted the
massive particle beam weapons to their complete control and destroy their ships. The orbiting
platform fell to these weapons. These refugees started a new life on Bass Swinette but fear
that the robots will follow them.

Far Swinette
A large trench runs diagonally from SW to NE starting in sector 14-22 and continuing into
sector 15-23. Various structures exist along the edges of the trench, with a large one at
the SW end in sector 14-22.

Far Swinette Trench (14-22): The trench running to the northeast is of incredible proportions,
it is over 10 miles wide, 1 mile deep and 250 miles long. At intervals down its length are
structures built into the side of the trench which rise to about 100 feet above the surrounding
terrain. At the end of the trench is a huge door (200 feet square). To the left of this door
is the base of a massive building that rises 3000 feet above the surface of the planet. There
is absolutely no sign of any activity. There are areas at the bottom of the trench where the
metal is covered with soil and grass.
Trench control facility: Access to this structure is made through an open shutter like door on
the roof of the structure. Just below the roof level is a massive bay area, with elevator like
lifts that rise to the roof above. From this area a series of ramps lead downward. The bay area
is completely empty except for another large shutter like door in the middle of the bay floor.
The ramps have rooms and areas off of them which contain walls of electronic equipment that
appear to be completely inactive. There are no switches or buttons on any of this equipment
but there are odd electronic connectors mounted in the walls at various points. It is apparent
that the building will never be thoroughly explored without a serious investment of men and time.

Secondary trench facilities: Externally these structures along the side of the trench appear to
be exactly the same. The structures start at the base of the trench and rise to a height of 750
feet above the surrounding terrain. The portion of the edifice flush with the wall of the trench
has an odd appearance and upon closer inspection, it is noted that the surface is composed of
innumerable vertical ridges about one inch in width. All evidence indicates that these ridges
are some form of electromagnetic field generator.

Microwave transmitter: The dish-like structure found atop the tower is apparently a microwave
transmitter. The beam it is sending is extremely tight with almost no scatter. It is extremely
dangerous for any men or object to pass through the beam.

Structure roof: The size of this structure is immense. It stands 8000 feet tall and about 40
miles on a side. The top of the building has a series of dish-like structures on it. There
also appears to be an area with some vehicles parked on it. The roof of the structure is
relatively flat except for the dishes which are at the edge of the roof and pointing slightly
downward. There are large areas (50 ft X 50 ft) that appear to be some kind of door or shutter.
Each of the vehicles on the roof are sitting next to smaller versions of the shutters.

Alien vehicle: This alien vehicle weighs 20 mu's and has a cargo capacity of 60 mu's. There
is apparently some form of energy weapon system protruding from the front of the craft. The
propulsion appears to be similar to that employed in Imperial space fighters. You are able to
enter the ships by opening a hatch controlled by an electronic sensor. Inside the craft you
find no controls or viewports, however, there are some odd electronic connectors mounted in
the fowardmost bulkhead of the vehicle. It is impossible for a human to pilot such a craft as
this.

Robotic contact: Upon landing, your me force open one of the hatches (a sliding shutter).
Immediately upon opening the hatch, another of the shutters open and five robots rise to the
surface on an elevated platform. These robots move to the area where you were tampering with
the door and two of them repair the hatch. The remaining three move past your men and examine
your ship, one of your men has to jump out of the way to avoid being run over. The two robots
working on the hatch weigh approximately 15 mu's and have many arms and devices mounted on it.
It appears to move on a cushion of air. The other 3 are bipedal and weigh 5 mu's. They have
3 manipulative arms. After repairs are finished on the hatch, they return back inside ignoring
your group.

Particle beam weapon control facility: Access to the structure is made by forcing open the
shutter like doors on the roof. There are many such shutters ranging from 3 X 3 feet to 50 X
50 feet. Just below the roof level is a massive bay area, with elevator like lifts that rise
to the roof above. From this level a ramp leads down to a single large room filled with
electronic equipment. There are odd electronic connectors mounted in the wall at various
points. The structure stands 3500 feet tall and is surrounded by a glass depression extending
70 miles in all directions. Evidence indicates that the facility is used to fire some form of
charged particle beam. Circuitry under the glass appears to produce and direct the charge.
The facility appears to be receiving power.

Particle beam glass: A sample of the glass found in the particle beam weapon assembly reveals
the following information. The glass is 15 feet thick, with thin metal foil and wire imbedded
in it. Your instruments indicate that the metal is conducting a low level electrical current.
Your men point out to you that if the weapon should fire while they are landed everything on
the surface would be vaporized.

Hanger/Maintenance bay exploration: Once access is gained through the roof of the structure
your men discover a massive bay area extending well below the roof. The most noteworthy
activity is one area in which 10 of the alien vehicles are being loaded and worked on by a
variety of robots. The majority of the work is being done by a 15 mu using various arms and
devices mounted on it. A few 5 mu robots appear to be assisting. It appears that all these
robots are totally unaware of your presence. However, as soon as you started exploring you
did notice that at least two other robots did appear to sense your presence. These robots are
10 mu's and appear to have some form of an energy weapon system built into their upper torso.
They are maneuvering to fire(?).

One giant cargo vessel (1-1500-1) named the Flittermouse was lifted off of Far Swinette, and
it is believed that one more still exists on the planet. The AIFS (the robots) are unlikely to
give up their last one. Their complete purpose is to obtain space travel technology and travel
to Bass Swinette to wipe out their former masters, the Swinettians. The cargo vessel moves
with fissionables, and any hit to any section in a battle will destroy the entire vessel. It
can move quickly however, at a base speed of 1.0. Current location of the Flittermouse is
unknown, although it is believed to be in the periphery.

The AIFS claim that they can duplicate any kind of robotic item (eg. warbots). They are hostile
to all but those affiliated with the governor of WCE Merconia. It is believed that the robots
are all one entity, with the central robot (location unknown) communicating through all of the
other robots.
