This directory  holds  archiving and compression programs,  often used to pack
 files into groups (and compressing them) for transfer to other systems.

 The intention is not to keep  every program here - especially those (versions)
 that have been published on Fish disks.

 compress  A program to compress (and uncompress) single files. The compressed
           files' names end with a ".Z".

 DMS       Compresses whole disks. Currently supported format on this site.

 GNU zip   A program to compress (and uncompress) single files. The compressed
           files' names end with a ".z". In very near future, all .Z files
           will be converted to GNU zip format.

 Imploder  The Imploder allows you to reduce the size of executable files while
           having them retain their full functionality.

 LhA       Creates .lha archives with complete path structure. Currently
           supported format on this site.

 puttrax   And old program to read and compress whole disks.

 unsit     This is an Amiga port of Allan Weber's Unsit v1.5c for Unix.

 unzip     A program to extract .zip archives.

 uucode    uuencode - encode binaries for email transmision
           uudecode - decode uuencoded binaries

 uujoin    Joins and decodes Usenet binary files.

 uumerge   Combine split uuencoded files into a single data stream with
           e-mail garbage removed and pipe into uudecode.

 Warp      And old program to read and compress whole disks.

 ZAP       And old program to read and compress whole disks.

 zip       Creates .zip archives with complete path structure.

 Zoo       An older program to archive files with complete path structure.

 Zoom      Another program that compresses whole disks.
