PCMCIA: Using an ISDN Card

Situation:

Procedure:

1. PCMCIA must be installed and activated. In addition, the card must be detected and started.
2. Configure ISDN as you would with an ordinary ISDN card. You do not have to specify any interrupt or I/O port: the PCMCIA cardmanager will take care of it.
3. Remove the start/stop links for ISDN from directory /sbin/init.d/rc*d/. These links are not required by PCMCIA cards because PCMCIA starts the ISDN initialization scripts.
   

        cd /sbin/init.d
        rm rc*d/*i4l*
        

   These links are not only unnecessary but also annoying, since they can start the ISDN initialization scripts twice or do it at the wrong time.
