Graphic cards with Cirrus Logic 542x chipset

Symptom:

(--) SVGA: clgd5424: Specifying a Clocks line makes no sense for this
driver
SVGA: 'clgd5424' is an invalid chipset
 *** None of the configured devices were detected.***

Cause:

Solution:

• Login as user root.

• Load the file /etc/XF86Config into your favourite editor, e.g. vi:

  vi /etc/XF86Config
  

• Search for the paragraph "section device". There you can find e.g. the following lines :

  Section "Device"
     Identifier      "Primary Card"
     VendorName      "Unknown"
     Chipset         "clgd542x"
     BoardName       "Cirrus Logic"
     Clocks          25 30 25 40 45 50  
  EndSection
  

• Please remove all lines that begin with either Chipset or Clocks. Save the file.

Now the start of the X-server should be successful.
