How to Find out Your libc Version

Situation:

You want to find out the version of the C library libc included in your SuSE Linux.

Procedure:

Simply execute the library. The following is an example of the command execution and output in SuSE Linux 6.4: 
snbarth@descartes:~ > /lib/libc.so.6

Please note: This procedure works with new glibc only, i.e. those whose file names contain a "6" such as libc.so.6 in the example above.
