printer is not loaded
automatically (but it is loaded by the YaST2 printer configuration).usbcore and
either usb-uhci or usb-ohci and the
module printer are needed.
root load the printer module
using the commandmodprobe printer
To get this module automatically loaded at boot time
either append this
command to the file /sbin/init.d/boot.local
or (the more correct way) add printer to the
variable USB_DRIVERS
in the file /etc/rc.config.d/usb.rc.config
(e.g. USB_DRIVERS="usb-keyboard mouse printer").
