HylaFAX: No regular expression for modem class

Symptom:

In /var/log/messages you get an announcement of the faxserver: 
[...] No regular expression for modem class

Cause:

While setting up there is a question in faxsetup: 
Define a class of modems []?
this doesn't require you to enter a fax class (1, 2 oder 2.0) but here you may group modems together. These modems may now be used by the fax server. (see man 5 fconfig). If you want to use any modem you may enter: "any:.*".

Solution:

Please edit /var/spool/fax/etc/config and enter the following after the ModemClass: parameter: 
ModemClass:             "any:.*"
