Bulletin Date: 31 JANUARY 1995

UNITED KINGDOM
Talkradio UK started simultaneous test transmissions across the UK yesterday
30/1/95. The transmitters seem to be operational round the clock with
recordings of the new presenters introducing themselves. The two high power
synchronous networks on 1053 and 1089kHz are on, supplemented by low power
relays in Newcastle (1071kHz), Liverpool, Fareham and Torbay (all three on
1107kHz).

Thus ends a period of good interference free long distance reception on 1050
and 1090kHz; this winter rarely heard stations in Washington, Alberta,
Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario have been heard in the UK on these
channels.
