The director of Lithuanian branch is A. Cekuolis. The main radio station is located in Great Britain. Via satellite, signals will be beamed to Pallanga and, from there, remitted to all Scandinavian countries. Popular music will be aired 24 hours a day, 8 minutes per hour will be assigned for advertising, 2 minutes - for news. The programs will not be heard in the Baltic countries. The building site is being inspected about 500 meters from the Baltic seashore. The equipment will be installed by Americans. The station may be completed by the end of this year. The Latvians and the District of Kaliningrad were interested in having this radio station installed but the British selected Lithuania because of a most favourable geographical position. According to Mr. Cekuolis, Lithuania will profit economically as well as politically: every year, Lithuania will be paid 150, 000,00 US Dollars for the right to use Lithuanian air waves, and 20 % will be gained by the Ministry of Communications and Information. According to agreement with Great Britain, several British radio stations will transmit Lithuanian programs abroad. Beside that, Britain will build a small reserve radio station for the Lithuanian Government. Mr Cekuolis emphasizes the fact that the word "Lithuania" will constantly be heard througout the Scandinavian countries just like the popular radio "Luxembourg" is known all over Eurpe."
