Hello and welcome to Radio World.

And this week we begin in Sweden because the international service of the
Swedish public broadcasting company has made several changes to its
schedule since the beginning of this month. The programme in the German
language is still from 1830 to 1930 UTC on 6065 and 9655 kHz, and also on
MW 1179 And also, but only on saturdays and sundays from 0900 to 1000 on
9620 kHz. English then, has been observed by our monitor Eugene Gebruers
from 1615 to 1645, from 2130 to 2200 and from 2230 to 2300 UTC on 6065 and
1179 kHz. In the programme that starts at 2230 UTC Eugene hears the
frequency of 11910 kHz being announced, and that is presumably used to
transmit the programme to Asia. There's also a programme in English from
1730 to 1800 UTC on 6065, 9645 and MW 1179, this programme is also audible
here in Belgium on 15270 kHz, a frequency for the Middle East in all
probability. Finally there's the English- language programme of Radio
Sweden from 2030 to 2100 UTC on 6065, 9655 and MW 1179 kHz.

Over to the Middle East now for the English-language programmes of the
United Arab Emirates, Radio Dubai, broadcasting to Europe and North Africa
from 1030 to 1055, 1330 to 1355 and from 1600 to 1640 UTC. For all three
transmissions Dubai has replaced the frequency of 15435 kHz by 15395 kHz.
The other frequencies are still the same, namely 21605, 15320 and 13675
kHz.

In Costa Rica, Radio for Peace International now uses its frequency of
15030 kHz to transmit in USB, upper side band instead of regular AM.
Although the power output is only five kilowatts the signal is better over
here then the one on 21465 kHz. The USB signal on 15030 kHz can be heard
in Belgium until well after 0100 UTC.

MGT:

You've heard that the programme is by and for women, and in Spanish it's
called Radio Feminista. According to the WRTH the station carries a
programme in German on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2300 to 2330 UTC but so
far, Eugene Gebruers has not been able to confirm this.

Over to Brazil, and Radio Educadora da Bahia which has been inactive for a
long time but is now back on 6020 kHz, and observed on that frequency, or
rather on 6019.92 by Eugene between 2230 and 2326 UTC, that is until Radio
Nederland starts up a carrier wave in preparation of a programme in
English at 2330. And under the signal of Radio Educadora Eugene can hear
Radio Gaucha of Porto Allegre.

And since the fifth of July Radiostantsiya Golos Rossiya is coming in with
an exceptionally strong signal on some of the best frequencies hitherto
used by Radio Moscow's World Service in English, like 17735 , the station
is also on a lot of other frequencies, like 17745, 13680 and 15295 kHz.
17735 kHz is in the air from 0700 to 1800 UTC, or rather was in the air at
these hours because on Friday there was nothing on that frequency. This
is a recording made earlier in the week on 17735 kHz at 0700 UTC:

MGT:

That was Radiostantsiya Golos Rossiya on 17735 kHz. Other frequencies
observed over here are 17745, 13680, 15465, 11830, 15150, 11930, 11685,
11870, 11805 and 11750 kHz. These transmitters are not all the time and
simultaneously in the air.

Here are the times and frequencies for Radioworld on RVI :

 sat & mon 0630 UTC to EU/AUS on 1512, 5910 & 9925 kHz
 sat & mon 0900 UTC to EU on 1512, 5910, 9905 & 13675 kHz
 sat & mon 1300 UTC to SEAS/NAM/EU on 1512, 15540 & 17540 kHz

       sat 2330 UTC to NAM/SAM on 9930 & 13655 kHz

For people who also can understand Dutch, try also 'Golfgids', which
carries information about frequencychanges at RVI and listeningtips. It
can be heard in the following timeslots :
