Z-Fax Release Notes Version 0.9.8, Wednesday, 25 November 1992

Welcome to the eighth beta-test release of Z-Fax. Many things don't
work right yet, some of them fairly important. We are putting it out
in this state so you can get a look at the product.

Network fax queueing should be working now.

Receiving faxes should be working now.

NOTE to those who have installed versions previous to 0.9.6: before
this version, the license.data file had to be installed in
/usr/lib/Zmail/license; now things are fixed so it goes in
/usr/lib/Zfax/license. You may need to adjust your files.

ANOTHER NOTE: version 0.9.7 moves some internal programs from
/usr/local/bin to /usr/lib/Zfax/bin. You will need to manually
remove the programs from the old directory. So, when you become
root to run doinstall.sh, first do:
  ( cd /usr/local/bin ; rm c2test c2recv c2send fax-recv fax-send netfaxq )
Or if you installed the programs somewhere other than /usr/local/bin,
substitute that directory. Thank you for your patience.

You should read through "INSTALL" to learn about installing the
package. But basically, you become root, do "sh doinstall.sh", and
answer the questions. Then look at the man page for zfaxd to learn
about starting the Z-Fax daemon.

Some problems we know about:

 - The manual is only a rough draft. What's in there should be correct,
   but it's missing a lot.

 - There are sometimes strange interactions between the file finder popup
and the error popup - things like they both come up and then one or
both refuse to go away. We will fix this by switching to non-modal
   file finders.

 - The file finder for viewing faxes needs a shortcut to get to the
   incoming fax spool area.

 - In the fax viewer, if you rotate a fax that's at 50% or 25% scale,
you'll sometimes get strange lines in the fax. These are not in the
   fax, they're just display bugs.
