Experience: Bellcore 1983-present; AT&T Bell Laboratories, 1980- 1983; Since 1986, Dr. Sincoskie has been Executive Director of the Computer Networking Research Department at Bellcore. He manages a group of about 40 researchers working on gigabit networking, ATM switching and signaling, transport protocols, next generation IP, and computer network management. He is responsible for coordinating all of Bellcore's research work on the national Gigabit Testbeds, and has been heavily involved with the AURORA project. In 1989, Dr. Sincoskie was appointed Adjunct Associate Professor of Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. From 1983-1986, Dr. Sincoskie was District Manager of the Computer Communications Research group, where he worked on distributed switching, packet telephony, and LAN bridging. While at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Dr. Sincoskie performed research in distributed computing, computer networking, and operating systems. Dr. Sincoskie is a member of Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu, ACM, and a Senior Member of the IEEE. He is also a Senior Editor of JSAC, an editor of Transactions on Networking, a member of the editorial board of the Proceedings of the IEEE, and a member of the Internet Architecture Board.
