Keeping it short but sweet....

Put SVIEW.EXE in the same directory as XYPLAN.DAT and HULLSPEC.DAT.

To run SVIEW you must supply three command line parameters:

     SVIEW GameDirectory RaceNumber SensorRange

GameDirectory - The full path to the directory where you unpack your RST file.
RaceNumber - Your race number. Feds = 1, Lizards = 2, ... , Colonies = 12.
SensorRange - The distance your ships can sense enemy ships. Set by the
sysop who configured the game. This value should be shown in
the messages you get on the first turn of the game.

Keys and their functions:

Arrow keys - scroll the map.
   S - Display ship information.
R - Toggle ship sensor range display. Default is OFF. Shows you the
range of your ships' sensors. Helps you find blind spots!
E - Toggle explosion display. Default is OFF. Shows you where the last
       turn's battles took place.
M - Toggle minefield display. Default is ON. Don't forget that a minefield
may grow BEFORE your ships move!
C - Toggle course/speed display. Default is OFF. The direction a ship
travelled last turn will be shown, if the ship did not reach its
waypoint. The bright purple line will indicate the ship's location
the next turn if it continues at its current speed and heading. The
dark purple line shows you how far the ship can travel at warp 9.
G - Toggle grid display. Default is OFF.

SVIEW stores minefield information in MINESn.DAT where n is your race number.
Mines detected on the last turn will be displayed in bright red. Mines
detected on a previous turn will be displayed in dark red (i.e. they may or
may not still exist). You may edit MINESn.DAT to remove the entries for
any mines detected on previous turns, if you discover that they really no
longer exist. You may also just delete MINESn.DAT before running SVIEW and
only mines detected on the last turn will be displayed.
